With just a few weeks to go, the anticipation is building for the 2019 Midland Game Fair, held in the spectacular grounds of Weston Park over the 14th& 15thSeptember. The Home of Airgun Expo, this year’s sporting event promises to be the biggest yet!

As the annual meeting place for the airgun community, the Midland Game Fair has always remained true to its roots, with Airgun Expo very much at the heart of the event. This year, we once again welcome the relocation of Airgun Expo, which now takes center stage within the new ‘Festival of Shooting’.

Along with the finest of manufacturers and retailers in the sport, the Midland also welcomes the European Field Target Championship and the newly appointed World Hunter Field Target Championship to the fold too, with both sporting events being supported by all the leading manufacturers and retailers of airguns and accessories too.

Here’s a little more about both competitions…

  • European Field Target Championship

Attracting competitors worldwide, the 2019 European Field Target Championship is all set to welcome 160 of the finest competitors from across the globe ready to take part in this most competitive of sports. The quality of this competition is unparalleled with the event also welcoming the strongest field of UK based shooters ever assembled.

A great Championship for enthusiasts and visitors to watch, competitors will also be more than happy to show off their rifles and discuss the sport. A timed favourite with many of the Field Target community, the Championship has some of the most sophisticated airguns and equipment in the sport. The European Field Target Championship is a two-day open event and BFTA rules apply. Competitors combined scores over the 2 days will then count towards the overall Championship.

  • World Hunter Field Target Championship

All new at the 2019 Midland Game Fair, the World Hunter Field Target Championship is renowned as the largest airgunning competition of its kind and will settle in perfectly amid all of the other airgunning activity and sporting competition the Midland Game Fair has lined up.

With all the major manufacturers in attendance, the WHFTC has plenty of things to see and do for both enthusiasts and those new to airgunning. For 2019, the Championship will consist of both the Manufacturer Team Championship and International Team Championship, with spectators able to watch all the action unfold as marksmen battle it out for this year’s title.

Airgun Expo within the ‘Festival of Shooting’ houses all the leading airgun brands, and for 2019 has specialist retailers, have-a-go-opportunities, expert guidance and lots of tips and sporting competitions, so whether you’re a dedicated airgunning enthusiast or a complete novice looking to get into airgun sport, Airgun Expo is the place to be.

 Air Arms

For 2019, Airgun Expo will be home to Air Arms, who will be bringing their newest product features along with their own dedicated range where visitors can try out ‘The Air Arms Experience’. Here, enthusiasts can have a go at a number of different airgun disciplines including hunter field target, target sprint, field target, pistol and much more, all supported by experienced coaches and competitors.


Airgun Expo also welcomes Umarex to the fold, which for 2019 includes new product ranges, lots of Umarex guns and plenty of special offers on Umarex air rifles and pistols.


If GAMO and BSA are more up your street, there will be a number of BSA dealers in attendance across the weekend selling some of the newest products on the market. Launched only recently at the British Shooting Show, enthusiasts can browse the newest R10th, Silverstar, Boxer, Venari and GX-40. Along with this, enthusiasts can then try their hand at any BSA/GAMO rifle on the dedicated shooting range located opposite their stand.


ASI will once again be featured at the Midland this year, and will include FX airguns and Crosman as well as lots of shotguns and airguns for visitors to browse. Enthusiasts will then be able to try the models out on ASI’s own dedicated range, located adjacent to their exhibition stand. As ever, the stand will be packed with all of the latest products, with experts on hand for any advice you may need.

This year BASC will be offering a comprehensive airgun coaching programme and have-a-go opportunities for all abilities to try their hand at this type of sport; from the complete novice, right up to the more experienced shot looking to brush up on their skills.
