The Midland Game Fair arrives at Weston Park in 2018!

The last event of the season arrived at the stunning grounds of Weston Park over the weekend, welcoming visitors in their thousands as they shopped the stalls, witnessed all the action in the many sporting championship finals and soaked up the celebratory atmosphere the Midland Game Fair is renowned for.

Visitors poured through the gates at Weston Park on the Saturday and Sunday of the event and got involved in an abundance of countryside features and performances which boasted a little bit of something for everyone. From the Midland’s fantastic feature areas, including the newly appointed Festival of Shooting, the Fishing Village, Working Dog Village and the Falconry Village, old friends and seasoned game fair goers shopped, watched and caught up on the year gone by. Families to the event were also treated to an array of wonderful, upbeat acts and demonstrations, with the Realtree Main Arena welcoming in jousting favourites The Knights of Middle England, falconry fun with Ye Olde Redtail Falconry as well as the Coventry Corps of Drums and the Hound Parade, offering tradition in all its full splendour.

The weekend also bought to a close a seasons worth of championship activity. Respective 2018 titles were awarded to those battling it out in the Chudleys Gundog Championship Final, BASC National Clay Shooting competition, the Countryman’s Weekly Champion of Champions and of course the BFTA European Field Target Championships. Here, competitors and spectators were not disappointed as winners were crowed for another season.

Organised by award-winning event organiser Countryman Fairs, the Midland Game Fair is the largest of five regional shows and the last for this 2018 year. Operations Director, Jerome Roberts says of this year’s spectacular showcase: “What a weekend this year’s Midland Game Fair has been! We’re thrilled so many of you celebrated with us and got involved in the spirit of the Show. With an abundance of countryside features and performances on offer, we’re so pleased visitors old and new, joined in the fun and took away new experiences. We are eternally grateful to all the support the Midland continues to receive; from visitors and exhibitors to our sponsors. And, from all the team at Countryman Fairs we thank each and every one of you and look forward to welcoming you all again for the 2019 season.”
